Ibanez are another ukulele brand that started out in the world of guitars. Ibanez as a business started way back in the 1930s. They’re actually a Japanese business that started importing guitars from luthier Salvador Ibanez (hence the name).
Ibanez are very new to ukuleles, they only started selling them in 2009 and as such don’t have a huge range available yet, at the time of writing there are just 5 different ukulele models in production. Ibanez focus mainly on soprano and concert scale ukuleles (although I believe there are some tenor scale ukuleles available too) in both acoustic and electro-acoustic.
With Ibanez being new to the ukulele market there’s not a huge amount of information about them out there, even Ibanez’s own website offers little information beyond specific instrument specification.
Ibanez ukuleles range from around $80 up to around the $250 mark.
