Ok, before you tell me this is stupid, I know it is – but what the hell, let’s do it anyway.
I was never much of a fan of The Sex Pistols and I’m still not really, in fact I’ve only tabbed this out for a couple of reasons – firstly I was teaching my son to play it on guitar and secondly I thought it might be funny for the ukulele. Maybe next time someone sees you with your uke and expects you to play some happy-go-lucky Youtube style backing music – belt this one out and see what happens…
Intro/Chorus
We’re all about power chords here. Calling them power chords is probably pushing it a bit for ukulele though, they don’t offer much in the way of power. The good news is that you can play this whole song with just one finger on your fretting hand.
As we’re not really using the E and A strings you could either just avoid strumming them, or you could mute them with your left hand. Personally I just don’t strum them because it feels a bit more punk to not put much effort in.
For the strumming play all down strums counting 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and to get the right feel.
The Verse
Yep, we’re still using just one finger and even better here we don’t have to use any fingers on our fretting hand for 75% of the verses. Brilliant.
