I was looking for a song for Ben (my son) to learn on guitar and I landed on Lose Yourself which is a great riff so I figured I’d convert it to ukulele…
It’s a bit of an odd one to pick (like everything I do) but what the hell. The riff is based around a D chord and is easy enough to get to grips with, just make sure that you’re playing the chords with a staccato feel by relaxing your fretting hand as soon as you’ve played the chord to stop it ringing out.
Here’s the tab…
You can play this using just the top two strings so if you’re struggling to stretch to the fifth and six fret on the E string. I’ve only really thrown the E string in to beef up the sound a bit.
If you can remember all the lyrics to rap along you’re doing better than I am. The only bit I can remember is “I’m like a snail, I’ve got to formulate a plot” – snails, not really known for their ability to formulate plots, unless of course that plot is to move very slowly from one point to another.
Now go and impress and/or annoy your friends.
OMG bro! thankyou so much. ive been looking everywhere for actual written down tab to pplay this song. amazingly enough noone has really taken the time to make a tutorial on how to play this
Whats the strumming pattern?
Hey Megan, it’s just…
D D D D | D D D DU x 2
Hope that helps!
He says he’s like a snail to explain the monotony of his life, and needs to formulate a plot before the boredom causes him to eventually get in trouble. Sorry if I killed a joke.
Thanks for sharing the chords! I remember finding this page a long time ago. I like playing it differently now because of my arthritis. Thought I’d share back.
