The second season of True Detective is looming (I’m saying that, I haven’t a clue when it’s going to be on) but in the meantime you can have a play around with this joyful little number that was used on the intro sequence to the first season…
Transcribing & Ear Training
I’ve been really pushing transcribing and ear training lately. I’ve played guitar for years but I was always dependent on tabs or chord sheets that I found online, never really working anything out for myself. I really want to change that now, I want to be able to hear a song, work it out myself and play it.
Ukulele Round Up – 20 Feb 2015
Good ukulele people, it’s Friday round-up time – what’s been going on in the wonderful world of the ukulele this week? Let me tell you…
Bulls On Parade – Rage Against The Machine Ukulele Riff
While I’m busy tabbing riffs and songs that should probably never be played on ukulele, how about a bit of Rage Against The Machine? What could be less appropriate to play on the uke (don’t answer that).
Give In To Me – Michael Jackson Ukulele Riff
I have to confess I love this riff which is played by Slash on Michael Jackson’s song Give In To Me.
Dexter Theme Tune Ukulele Tab

The ability to instantly know what note you’re playing wherever you are on the neck on your uke opens up all kinds of possibilities and should start to connect the dots for you on which notes and chords work together and why.
Adjusting The Action On Your Ukulele
I’ve been watching loads of videos on setting up a ukulele recently and I thought I’d have a go at lowering the action on my Peavey concert ukulele. Here’s how I did it…
Extreme Ways by Moby – Ukulele Lesson
I never even intended to record a lesson of this song, The Bourne Identity just happened to be on TV the other night (it’s on basically on every night) and I started strumming along with it…
There She Goes – The La’s Ukulele Riff
This riff from The La’s self titled 1990 album was a massive hit and hugely overused on the Mike Myers movie from 1993 So I Married An Axe Murderer. I also seem to recall Sixpence None The Richer (think Dawson’s Creek) doing a cover of it that was pretty terrible.
