I keep looking at different tab apps for my mac, downloading the trial and then deciding that I don’t actually want to learn more software so I thought “what’s wrong with using the old pen and paper?” Nothing I decided and quickly whipped up some blank tab sheets.

So here’s the Ukulele Go! blank tab sheet. I’ve kept them really simple and coloured the lines up in a light grey so that you can write over the top of them and read what you’ve written. Also it shouldn’t use too much of your printer ink, which seems to be crazy expensive whenever I need to buy any.

I hope you find them useful, I’ve printed a bunch of them out so I have them handy whenever I’m playing.

Father Ted Theme Tune On Ukulele

I found this tab on the amazing Ukulele Hunt a few days back and just had to have a blast at playing it being a massive Father Ted fan. It’s much easier to play than it sounds and I think it’s really all about getting to grips with the feel of the song. The Divine Comedy were always something of a mystery to me, they always had more songs that I knew than I realised, this being one of them.

The Best Custom Painted Ukuleles

I have to say I’m dying to get myself a white ukulele and take a sharpie marker to it to see what it comes out like (EDIT, I did this you can check it out here). I keep seeing custom paint jobs that I think look amazing and I really want to have a blast myself. I’m thinking I might go for a white Octopus or a Makala Dolphin (cheap enough to mess up but something that sounds decent enough to play if it works out well). What’s great about the ukulele is that it’s so damn handy, I can pretty much keep it by my side 24/7 – well that is unless my wife decides to move it to some place where I can’t find it and I have to go hunting it down (maybe she’s doing it on purpose!).
