Allow me to present the Ukulele Go t-shirt! I wanted a ukulele t-shirt that didn’t explicitly say ukulele but was subtle enough for any other ukulele players to be able to recognise it. And so I came up with the 4 strings idea. Continue reading
Countdown to GNUF 2015
Just a couple of days to go until GNUF 2015 gets underway and I’m really looking forward to it. I don’t really know what to expect having not been before and I don’t know Huddersfield particularly well either. Here’s what I’m looking forward to…
The Model by Kraftwerk
I’m not even sure how I ended up listening to Kraftwerk this morning but it doesn’t really matter, I ended up playing around with it on the ukulele and it kind of works ok (if you’re willing to let go a bit).
Heart-Shaped Box by Nirvana Ukulele Lesson
Heart-Shaped Box is probably my favourite Nirvana song so I guess it made sense that one day the time would come for me to butcher it on the ukulele.

Recently I’ve been thinking a lot about practising and progression. I’ve not been too happy with my progression over the past few weeks – sometimes it feels like I’m not really learning much or it’s just not sinking in.
The Cardboard Ukulele Is Finished
If you’re a regular reader then you’ll know that I was having a blast at making a cardboard ukulele over the past few weeks. That project is now finished in both senses of the word unfortunately.
Phil Doleman Interview
It’s pretty much impossible to have had any exposure to the ukulele without encountering Phil Doleman. He’s played every major ukulele festival, appeared in magazines, taught workshops, written columns and a whole lot more. Phil has had huge impact on the world of ukulele with his distinct voice and melodic jazz sound. Phil took some time out of his hectic schedule and answered a few questions…
Win A Mahilele Soprano Ukulele
It’s my first ever competition on Ukulele Go and I’m giving away this Mahilele Soprano Ukulele (with gig bag) thanks to Mercatino dell’ukulele. If you haven’t already, go check out my review of the Mahilele – it’s a uke that I’ve played a lot over the past few weeks and grown quite attached to!
Paint It Black, The Rolling Stones – Ukulele Riff
A song that I will always associate with late night Vietnam War TV show Tour Of Duty. Easy enough to work out on the ukulele but I figured it was worth posting for anyone that might want it.
