Here we go with a little music theory (not too much though). Take a look at the circle of fifths below, yeah it looks complicated and in truth, it can be a little bit – but we’re going to take a really basic look at it today and it won’t be scary.
One Chord Songs On Ukulele
I was watching some harmonica lessons a few weeks back and one those lessons was to restrict your improvisation to a single hole which gives you just 2 notes to play with. It’s a real challenge to try and play something interesting with just 2 notes and it makes you focus more on other things like timing and dynamics/volume. Ukulele For Dummies Review
A few weeks back I bought a copy of Ukulele for Dummies by Al Wood (from Ukulele Hunt) so I thought I’d share my thoughts on it. So without further ado, here’s my review of Ukulele For Dummies…
Ukulele Calendar 2015
I spotted this brilliant ukulele calendar a few weeks back and I have to admit, initially it passed me by. I made a mental note to download it but something else came up and I totally forgot to come back to it. Blank Ukulele Song Sheet
Hot on the heels of my blank ukulele tab sheet, I’ve created a ukulele song sheet. I realised that not everyone will want to tab every note of every song and that a song sheet might be more useful for a lot of ukulele players out there.
Ukulele Parts Diagram
You should really take the time to get to know your ukulele, otherwise when you hear someone mention the nut or the saddle you’re not going to have a clue what they’re talking about and you might end up looking the fool.
The Grand Northern Ukulele Festival 2015
I’ve been debating over whether to go to the Grand Northern Ukulele Festival in May. It’s not a debate over whether I want to go or not, it’s more a case of logistics.
Oxygene Part IV by Jean Michel Jarre Ukulele Cover
Here’s a quick video I recorded last night of me attempting to play Oxygene Part IV by Jean Michel Jarre. This, like the Father Ted cover that I posted last week is based on another great tab from Al at Ukulele Hunt.
